- Q: How durable is the KiddieRail?
A: KiddieRail has passed extensive testing and has proven its’ durability, both in in-house testing and at FIRA (Furniture Industry Research Association). For more information regarding testing, see our Testing results.
- Q: What colours is KiddieRail available in?
A: KiddieRail is only available in white for the time being, however, we are willing to manufacture KiddieRail in more colours if there is a demand for them in future.
- Q: What awards has KiddieRail won?
A: KiddieRail won the 2016 Baby Products Association’s Innovation Award, recognised by a panel of judges for its’ innovative nature.
- Q: What tools are required to install KiddieRail? Is it difficult to install?
A: KiddieRail installation requires a drill, a spirit level, a tape measure, a 4m length of string, a pencil and 2 screwdrivers; 1 flathead and 1 crosshead. It is, however, a straightforward process to install, and should take no more than an hour; please refer to our Online Instructions when installing the product.
- Q: How many accidents are suffered by children on the stairs every year?
A: According to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), 58,000 children suffer falls on the stairs each year. That is a staggering 158 per day.
- Q: What age range is KiddieRail suitable for?
A: KiddieRail is suitable from the moment a child begins to walk, and it is recommended for children no older than 5 years old.
- Q: Is it adjustable?
A: Yes! One KiddieRail will be sufficient to assist and safeguard your child until they are big enough to reach the adult handrail.
- Q: Is it supplied with a warranty?
A: Yes, KiddieRail is supplied with a free 5 year warranty.
- Q: Will it fit onto a winding staircase?
A: Unfortunately, due to the solid and robust nature of the material used to make KiddieRail, it does not have the bend required to be fitted to a winding staircase.
- Q: Is it patented?
A: KiddieRail currently has a patent pending in the UK, as well as in India and Germany, and it has been granted a US patent. KiddieRail also holds a registered design right in the UK and is fully trademarked.
- Q: What materials is it made from?
A: It is made from Aluminum, as well as Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), a tough, shatter – resistant material that gives a slicker finish than polypropylene.
- Q: Does it require maintenance?
A: We recommend the occasional checking of screw tightness for your peace of mind, as well as wiping down the rail itself to keep it clean.
