When it came to testing KiddieRail, it quickly became clear that due to the innovative nature of the product, we were breaking new ground and there was no minimum industry standard required. As a result of this, we decided to test KiddieRail as strenuously as possible, requesting the assistance of the Furniture Industry Research Association (FIRA) in order to ensure we deliver to you a product you can truly rely upon to be as durable as possible to protect your child when they are learning to use the stairs.

The FIRA testing results have demonstrated that KiddieRail is able to withstand the weight of an average six-year-old child. Given that by the age of 6, an average six-year-old child should be able to grip the adult handrail and do so acceptably safely, it is clear that KiddieRail will be capable of supporting your child from the moment they are first learning to walk, right up until they can use the adult handrail.

There were four separate tests ordered for FIRA, as it was recognised that the bulk of the testing needed to be handled by people who had expertise in testing domestic products. The tests also involved weights being placed, and pressure being applied to the product at various points.
